Hello, you! Not to sound like Joe from You (2018), but after being MIA from the blogosphere for approximately one year, I truly have no idea how to start yet another ‘first post’. But your friendly neighborhood inconsistent blogger decided to start blogging again starting today, so YAY!

Is it too cringy to say new year, new blog, new me? Well, maybe it is. In fact, I may have to take that statement back, because although it’s true that it’s a new year (yes, I am aware that we are a month into 2021 already), it’s not a new blog (basically a sequel of my old one, if that makes sense), and it’s definitely not a new me (basically a more ‘adult’ and stressed version of myself). After a long break that I took since earlier last year (thanks to my new job and the uninvited worldwide pandemic), I decided that it’s time for me to start blogging again.

Where have I been?

I don’t think there’s anyone in particular who’s wondering about my existence or my blog’s existence for the past year, but if you do, the answer is probably not as exciting as you expected. I got an office job, things got hectic, schedules got busy, and I was too overwhelmed to even post any update about my circumstances. The indefinite and sudden hiatus on my socials followed the same route not long after that. But long story short, I started to get the flow of my job as a banker now and I realized that I missed blogging terribly.

Where am I going?

One thing that I know for sure is that I will keep things slow with this new blog. I promised that I’ll not pressuring myself to stay updated with all the new releases, both with books and movies/TVs, despite how alluring they can be. However, I do have a few small goals that I want to achieve this year:

  • Discover books, movies, and TVs that will make me gush about it non-stop. I’m not setting any number for this goal particularly because I want to be focusing on its quality rather than its quantity. It’s sooo easy to feel left out and unmotivated once I’m behind the goal that I’m setting and I’m trying to avoid that unnecessary pressure this year.
  • Finish leftover ARCs from the previous years. And not requesting anymore ARC until I completed them all. I’m currently at 97. Yup, I’m just as surprised as you are now that I counted them.
  • Organize and stay on track. I made a personal spreadsheet a while ago to track my reading and watching. I’m excited to see how long I can stay consistent and actually using them!

Now, tell me!

  • What’s your plan for 2021?
  • Do you use a tracker for your readings and watchings? How was it so far?
  • We survived the first month of 2021. Wohoo! What’s your favorite part about last month?

  1. I adore your blog design. It's so warm and engaging. I so defnitely understand the "doing too much" mentality, especially regarding tags, it's why I've all but stopped writing them.
I am so excited to read your upcoming post, especially those local hidden gems.
